UC Berkeley + virtual attendance option
We invite you to join us for the 2023 Alliance for Therapies in Neuroscience (ATN) symposium. This cross-institutional event will bring together neuroscience communities across the Weill Neurohub (UC Berkeley, UC San Francisco, University of Washington) and Roche/Genentech to explore exciting areas of neuroscience research with therapeutic potential. Attendees will gain insight about areas of interest for the partnership, what it means to be funded by the ATN, and learn about the next RFP set for release later this year. The symposium also provides attendees the opportunity to network and explore possible collaborations with fellow scientists from across the Weill Neurohub, as well as Roche and Genentech.
Featured Sessions
Roundtable Discussion
Stormy Chamberlain, PhD and Fyodor Urnov, PhD join in discussion to share their experiences working collaboratively within the unique academic-industry partnership. Session moderated by Ehud Isacoff, PhD and Casper Hoogenraad, PhD.
Lightning Talks
Areas of interest include: • Glial cell dynamics in neuroinflammtion and neurodegeneration • Diagnostics and biomarkers • Gene-editing delivery platforms to CNS • Underlying biology of neuroprotection • Applied computational neuroscience.

About the ATN
The Alliance for Therapies in Neuroscience (ATN) is a long-term research partnership between UCSF, UC Berkeley and the University of Washington (through the Weill Neurohub) and Roche/Genentech, aimed at speeding the development of new therapies for debilitating brain diseases and disorders of the central nervous system (CNS).
Established in February 2021, the ATN partnership has launched collaborative research projects centered around university faculty teaming up with industry scientists to drive advances against numerous brain disorders such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s, ALS, multiple sclerosis, and autism.
By harnessing the range of expertise and resources found across academia and industry, joint project teams strive to better understand disease pathologies, discover novel targets, generate new preclinical models, and identify translatable biomarkers that will further accelerate the development of innovative therapies for patients with CNS disorders.
